"Was the pearl you mentioned on that terrifying corpse, in the City Under the Sea, or in the hands of the Scarlet Secret Society's ritual host?"
Shade asked again.
"I don't know that."
Mr. Edmund wore a regretful expression.
"I'm not a fishman, nor have I ever been to the seabed. All of this was recorded in stone slabs and documents. I can't even be certain that pearl is a relic. But you definitely wouldn't mistake it for anything else. It was a golden pearl, about half the size of a fist."
Shade frowned and thought it over. It seemed that only by directly touching the pearl Mr. Edmund had mentioned could he determine whether it contained what he wanted.
"I have another question. Apart from the evil god's kin, are there any other dangers in Coldwater Port? I'm worried something else might happen then."
"Ring Arcanists from both the Old and New Continents have gathered in Coldwater Port to search for someone. Does that count as danger? Other than that, there are rumors that fishermen in the Outer Sea have sighted mermaids, but that unusual race is peaceful. That's all for now."
The old man considered it again.
"Of course, this land is full of ancient legends, and there are quite a few modern ones as well. For example, a Level 0 Relic once appeared here. Or this land was once tainted by desire and sin, which is why it became a paradise for smugglers and stowaways in the present day. The flames of civilization always attract strange things, but I don't think any of that has anything to do with this incident."
"Alright."
Shade nodded again, rising to take his leave.
"But if the fishmen really have it..."
That thought still echoed in his mind.
