Today, Miss Servit finally was not wearing that Head Maid dress. When Shade opened the door downstairs and saw the girl outside, he was stunned for a moment before daring to confirm that the person before him was indeed the maid.
Her long black hair was tied into an intricate style with a wide purple ribbon, gathered and hanging behind her. The only decoration in her hair was a silver-white Clover hairpin. Her thick black hair was parted before her right forehead, with the loose strands on the right tucked behind her ear, while the left side was combed diagonally downward, the ends nearly covering her eyebrow.
She wore a textured blue ladies' long dress. Aside from some slender silver-white patterns decorating the sleeves, there were no other colors. A discreet black belt was tied around her waist, and she wore a pair of small black flat leather shoes.
Seeing Shade's surprise, Miss Servit lowered her head to inspect her outfit, then looked up at Shade with those beautiful brown eyes:
"Sorry, is there something wrong with what I'm wearing?"
"Nothing wrong. I've just never seen you dressed like this before. You look beautiful."
Shade nodded and stepped aside to let her enter. A full day of detective work had officially begun.
After organizing the information they had gathered at home and leaving Mia to watch the house, Shade took Miss Servit by carriage to Saint Song Square in the Lower District, then entered the Three Cats Inn near the square.
The last time Shade had investigated the merchant selling spices, he had chatted here with the Doctor and the Doctor's friend. The Three Cats Inn was no different today. Travelers from afar stayed here, while idle folk sat on the 1st Floor and 2nd Floor, drinking and chatting.
