After bidding Miss Galina farewell, Shade carried the cat and, led by Tifa, left the second-floor study and went through the corridor toward the guest room where Luvia was staying. Along the way, they saw that the servants who had awakened were tidying up the manor, which had gone uncleaned for a day. Everyone nodded and greeted Shade when they saw him.

It was already ten at night, but they would have to keep busy for a while before resting. However, this was not because Miss Galina was harsh toward her servants. Rather, everyone had slept for nearly the entire day, and it would be difficult for them to fall asleep even if they tried now.

"Miss has already told the servants that you are also considered one of the masters here from now on, so please treat this place as your own home."

Tifa explained softly as she led Shade onward. But instead of taking him directly to see Luvia, she led him farther and farther away from the occupied areas. She even lit a candlestick and entered an increasingly dim section of the manor.

At last, they stopped in an unlit corridor. Judging by its location, this was a secluded area on the eastern side of the manor house.

Miss Galina certainly did not lack the gold pounds needed to pay for gas lamps, so even at night, most of the manor's corridors were lit. The fact that there were no lights here could only mean that few people usually came this way. Therefore, Luvia could not possibly have been assigned a room nearby.

Just as Shade was feeling puzzled, Tifa, who was holding the candlestick ahead of him, turned to look at him. Then she bent slightly and set the candlestick on the floor at an angle.
