Mystic Lock—Tree's Kiss was the second Mystic Lock Shade had mastered, and its most important function was sealing and suppression. Within the Darkness Domain, using divinity to scour his Spirit Runes along with the power gained from advancing in rings, Shade had used this Mystic Lock to seal away most of Pus of Man Daknis's power.
And on this Mudflat of Death, Shade used every last bit of spirit within him to seal the Gate of Death with all his strength. Naturally, his seal could not compare to Priest Augustus personally standing guard, a man who seemed to wield the power of the First Angel. But at the very least, it ensured that this gate would absolutely not cause problems for a short period of time.
Of course, Tree's Kiss's seal had no effect on him. He had not locked himself in here.
Even other Thirteenth Ring Warlocks likely could not have accomplished what he had just done. After all, coming here meant death, and Shade's Mystic Lock itself contained the story and power of a god possessing the power of "doors."
So, had he figured out how to leave?

A crimson bonfire blazed fiercely across the mudflat. The roots of the giant tree had nearly fused with the scenes of death carved upon the stone gate. Shade, pale from overusing his power, pressed one hand against the stone gate and activated Door Key within the Mystic Lock.
Tree's Kiss was originally the story of the Old God Radiance Doorway, who governed the power of space. Combined with a spell that had also come from Him and bolstered by God's Radiance, Shade felt that he could barely turn his arm and open that Gate of Death.
This also allowed him to discover
