The ancient god power of the Balance Chosen One had even destroyed the ritual altar, which had originally possessed indestructible properties.
But after the explosion ended and the smoke and dust dispersed amid the wind and snow, strange heavenly light still pierced through the dark clouds and shone down upon the ruins of the hill. The Divine Advent Ritual had indeed been delayed, but the god's descent had not been completely stopped.
Because that area was actually quite far from this clearing, Shade had not yet been greatly affected.

"I know that when that evil god descends into the Material World, it is usually to turn Flesh into stone. For example, the Lord of the Blood Feast in Tobesk had come for a joyous banquet, while the God of Vampires in Middlesburg had come to retrieve the long-brewed "Red Butterfly Blood Wine."
