"Is this heart a relic?"
Before the safe was opened, the Whisper Element had been very faint. But once he saw the heart, Shade knew it had to be a relic. He felt a chill, and at the same time, the hollow feeling in his heart that had emerged after being glanced at by Nameless One's Remains during last Thursday night's group mission inexplicably surfaced again. Fortunately, it was not too severe:
"Heart-type relics, especially those that can be accommodated by the human body, seem to start at Keeper of Secrets Level in terms of danger. He's only a Low-Ring Arcanist, yet he has something this good?!"
Shade exclaimed, while the witch was more interested in the letters:
"The cult must have given it to him, to fuse with corpses and cultivate special Water Ghosts. This was also one of The Truth Society's past research achievements, though The Truth Society has now begun researching the perfect Fusion of relics and human bodies."
Shade knew about that. The Ring Arcanist he and Priest Augustus had discovered in the graveyard last autumn, who kept dying and coming back to life, had been a researcher for The Truth Society.
"Looks like this is the most important thing here. This is Rotten Eye Barry's most important stronghold, but probably not his most important laboratory. Let's go. I'll take these letters back for examination. Hopefully, we'll find something."
"What should we do with this relic?"
Shade asked, though he was not interested in it himself:
"We can't just leave it alone, can we?"
"I'm not interested in it either. So either my follower can first take it somewhere suitable for storage, or we can turn it into a trap and give Barry a surprise when he returns."
Shade nodded, thinking both options were acceptable. Seeing
