After Miss Galina finished her speech, Shade used the excuse of going to the washroom and temporarily left the banquet hall amid the applause. Megan had originally intended to wait for Shade to return before taking him to meet the Duchess and introducing them in the banquet hall. Even Witches would not make a move there. But just as Shade stepped out, Tifa approached with a smile:
"Miss Green, Duke Galina invites you to speak with her over there. Do you have the time?"
It was an invitation from the Duke, and Megan naturally had no way to refuse. She could only follow the Witch Apprentice with the best figure she had ever seen in the Council and leave the area where the Merchants had gathered.
Miss Galina had not returned to the resting room. Instead, she had taken a seat in the sofa lounge before the floor-to-ceiling windows at the side of the banquet hall. She was surrounded entirely by women, including both Angelina and other noble ladies and young noblewomen.
"Look who's here."
She welcomed Megan herself and warmly had her sit beside Angelina:
"The last time I saw Ms. Green from Paradise Island Pharmaceuticals was four years ago at the Opera House in Tobesk. Though I had always been thinking of you afterward, I never had the chance to see you again. Paradise Island Pharmaceuticals has developed quite well in Delarion over the past few years. Perhaps we can keep in closer contact from now on. The kingdom needs Merchants like you. A prosperous economy cannot rely solely on its own people."
Before rumors spread about her affair with "Hamilton of Leijed," Miss Galina had always been suspected of having certain inclinations. Therefore, such excessive warmth from her did not seem out of place.
Megan also responded
