Mr. Green and Shade nodded together, but neither repeated it. Shade turned, took a deep breath, gripped the cold door handle, and pulled the entire door open before the three of them.

Behind the door were stone steps. At the end of the steps was not an empty basement, but a narrow Brick Corridor. Torches were set into the walls, and mist that did not exist on Dream Island spread through the corridor, preventing them from seeing what lay at its end.

As their gazes fell upon it, the torches along both sides of the corridor lit up one after another, from near to far, turning the mist orange. But the unseen torches in the distance swiftly became crimson, and from far to near, every torch turned red, bathing the entire underground corridor in scarlet.

This time, no warning from the Demon appeared. The Demon's power revealed itself directly and beyond all doubt.
