Braving the rain, Shade emerged gradually from the river, soaked from head to toe. He turned into Red Butterflies and flew into the middle outlet, which was still spewing water, then resumed human form and walked inward. The outlet was enormous; even standing upright, Shade would not touch the ceiling. The water flowing out nearly reached his knees, but he did not mind.

After walking inward for more than ten steps, he stopped at her reminder. He closed his eyes and used Enhanced Space Perception. When he opened them again, a gold-decorated metal box had appeared in the massive pipe that had previously contained nothing but flowing water.

The box had the classic appearance of a treasure chest. Not only was it entirely gold, but diamonds and gemstones of every color adorned its surface and seams. One glance was enough to tell that it contained extraordinary treasure. But accordingly, such an exaggerated design would only truly appear during an opera troupe performance.

The box was almost entirely submerged, with only its top protruding above the water. The ceaseless scouring had neither rusted nor corroded it, merely causing bits of trash carried downstream to tangle around it. Its surface remained smooth and gleaming with the luster of wealth.

Amid the thunderous rush of water, Shade frowned slightly and took a step back. Then thunder exploded in his hand, and he hurled a dazzling spear formed from silver white lightning:

"Thunder Spear!"

The thaumaturgy struck the box head-on. Just as Shade had expected, the box, its surface dented slightly by the Thunder Spear, immediately "sprang" up.

Shade watched as two slender legs emerged beneath the box and supported it upright, lifting the chest free of the current. Long, thin arms then extended from both sides of the box, flailing wildly through
