Shade set down his teacup and looked at the people watching him from both sides of the table. The cup struck the tea tray as it landed, and the Edwardzes all turned to look at him as well.

Shade told them of their ancestor's final whereabouts. He told them that the Green Siblings had inherited Green Lake Central Island in reality, and of the changes on the island after that great battle, as well as how the Church and Shade himself had dealt with it.

The Edwardzes listened carefully. Only after he had finished did Shade reveal his final arrangements:

"The Battle of Green Lake is over. I don't want to kill any more living people. Since you have gained life, you should properly enjoy another span of it."

He first looked toward the sixth-generation twin brothers, the Follen Brothers of the Rosicrucian Order and the Edwards Brothers of the Mirror Society:

"In a while, I'll need to deal with your memories and then arrange for you to leave this island. I'm sorry I made you wait here for three days. Oh, Wood Edwards and Glass Edwardz, please send my regards to the Invisible Man. He contributed quite a bit to the Battle of Green Lake."

All four rose to express their thanks:

"We were also given the chance to spend time with Mother/Father again. Please allow us to express our gratitude as well."

As for altering their memories, they had all witnessed the intimate cooperation between Shade and Iluna that night. Shade could not leave behind such a risk. Siris would handle the memories; the Order of the Forgotten was best at this sort of thing.
