Seeing the two hesitate, Shade blinked again:
"If you don't want to bet with me, you can reveal your third cards now. If I'm not mistaken, your cards aren't ordinary either, are they?"
"You think you've already got us beaten?"
Viscount Gra asked as he revealed his third card. Sure enough, it was another Special Rule Card:
"Stars 7, Words of the Era · Terrarell River News. Roll one 20-sided Dice. If the result is no greater than 5, this card's value may be adjusted to twice the dice result."
He picked up the Ivory Dice from the groove at the corner of the table and casually tossed it. Unfortunately, it landed on 14, failing to meet the activation condition of the special card. Viscount Gra pursed his lips.
"Sorry, I won't follow. Sometimes, being cautious is a good thing. I concede this round. I may not gamble Special Rule Cards with you again, but I look forward to meeting you at the card table again."
He displayed his cards, totaling 18 points.
Shade then looked at Herman Wood. After hesitating for a moment, the latter raised his hand and dramatically flung his third card onto the table, as though he could change its contents through sheer force of movement.
It was also a Special Rule Card, and likewise his wager for this round:
Ancient Fairy Tales · Mermaid's Song, suit: Moon 1. If this card is the second-to-last card, roll one 20-sided Dice during the scoring phase. If the dice result is greater than the total score, the total score may increase by one.
Herman Wood immediately revealed his first card. His three Hand Cards currently totaled 17 points.
"I noticed that you haven't declared that you're stopping your draws."
