Raindrops and ice pellets battered the glass, while peals of thunder made one's heart tremble. No lamps were lit in the tiny tavern, and there would certainly be no heating this season. The voices of the man and woman mingled with the chaotic sounds of the night, soft and gentle. Bella Belinder found it quite cozy as well.

"It's about time. Let's head for the shore."

Glancing outside, Shade spoke. The witch nodded and gathered up the cards on the table as well.

"I'm also curious about what will happen tonight. No matter how confident the Dragon Devouring Order is, they shouldn't be provoking such a direct conflict with The Church, should they?"

"If they truly match what I'm looking for, then the price is worth it."

This time, the Blonde Witch did not ask what Shade was looking for. Instead, after the two left the tavern side by side, she took his hand.

For an instant, it felt as though icy water had brushed across their skin. Then, their rain-soaked clothes rapidly dried. The rain no longer seeped into their clothing, and their figures seemed to melt into the darkness.

"The Illusion Spell was originally meant to protect against fire and poisonous mist. It's perfectly suited for keeping out the rain. I may not be as skilled at direct combat as they are, but I have quite a few supporting abilities."

She continued smiling at Shade in the darkness, her smile radiant.

The atmosphere was just right, and the two were about to walk shoulder to shoulder toward the coast when two other figures, braving the rain, suddenly appeared across the street. They were not ordinary people. They too wore cloaks and masks. Rainwater slid off their heads to the sides as though it had encountered a slanted slope.
