As Shade pondered this, he and Illustrious Miss descended the stairs together. The cold mist in the "front hall" of the Underground Cemetery grew increasingly dense. Then, after they pushed open the tightly shut stone door that had been locked from within, a skeleton holding a rusty broadsword chopped at Shade head-on from the open doorway amid a strange creaking sound.
Shade and Illustrious Miss both remained calm. After the illusory skeleton passed through Shade's body, it vanished directly.
Looking farther inside, the gloomy tomb passage was wreathed in cold white mist that severely hindered vision. Glowing white ghosts prowled within it, and from time to time, strange noises could be heard from skeletons and Corpse Ghouls moving about.
"Illusions combined with some necromancy. The technique is quite clever, but it still isn't particularly powerful."
Illustrious Miss judged:
"Do you need me to break the ritual? I can just transform into my Dragonborn form and roar."
"No, no. I'm worried that forcibly breaking the ritual will destroy what we're looking for. Besides, I'd also like to see who exactly is trapped here."
As he spoke, Shade raised his right hand. Faint spiritual light emerged in his palm, then condensed above it into a glowing, white transparent crystal.
Drawn by the spell, the white transparent crystal floated beside Shade and Illustrious Miss. With a gentle tap of Shade's finger, moonlight attached itself to the crystal, making the light it emitted even brighter—this was a basic application of the Light Spell.
The crystal spun clockwise in the air. The cold mist within two meters ahead vanished, the prowling spirits vanished, and the strange sounds vanished. In truth, there was nothing in the passage before them but dust.
"Let's go."
Shade beckoned to Illustrious Miss:
"Don't rush to look for anything yet. Let's
