Shade interrupted her again, his eyes once more meeting the Blonde Maid's:
"Justice is not absolute, so we do not know whether our actions are truly right. But that does not matter. As long as we can face our consciences, strive to become the light that guides more people, then we can call ourselves just."
"Do you consider yourself just?"
She pondered for a moment, and something indescribable appeared in her eyes.
"Of course I am not just. Justice is far too heavy. But at least for now, Eternal Light appears just on the surface. I admire their ideals, but I will not comment on their methods."
He smiled at Matilda again, but did not see the blush on her cheeks hidden beneath her hanging hair.
"Justice is pale and cold, but our souls are warm. There is no meaning in deliberately pursuing justice. Understand the principles, make your words match your actions, do not bully the weak, and lend others a hand when appropriate. That is enough."
He continued looking at the Opera House building, while the Blonde Maid standing behind him gently nodded. For an instant, she felt that she finally understood what it was about the man before her that had caught her mistress's attention.
