After the dull rumbling subsided, the elevator finally carried Shade to the foot of the sea cliff. He pushed open the door, stepped out of the small room at the bottom of the cliff, and onto the reefs outside.
Ever since the Battle of Moon Bay, the entire Moon Bay Area had enjoyed clear weather. Standing there now and gazing at the azure sky and the harbor filled with countless sailing ships, Shade felt that if he did not know what awaited him next, he would have been in a much better mood.
