Although Miss Isabella answered her question at once, a new problem arose: the voice from the fog on the left had sounded as though it were speaking directly into Miss Winslet's ear.

The gray-black-haired witch turned and looked to the right again. Adele Isabella's blurry figure was clearly standing there in the fog. She said nothing and did not seem to have heard that answer.

"Who was speaking just now?"

The bone-deep chill made her deeply uncomfortable. This corridor had never been dangerous before, yet one unreasonable occurrence after another had happened this time. Any sense of psychological safety had completely vanished.

Before Miss Winslet could ask what this was about, however, the buzzing sound came again from within the room behind her.

Turning around, she saw the enormous black shadow rapidly approaching through the fog. Miss Isabella on the right immediately stepped in front of Miss Winslet:

"Flora, it seems your apprentice has already gone to the Council. Leave by following the corridor back the way you came. Don't worry about me."

"Alright. Please be careful too. There's something strange in this fog—I heard a strange voice just now."

The Great Witch of Death knew that staying here would only make her a burden, so she turned and ran down the corridor, away from the fog door.

She had walked through this corridor countless times, from her days as a Witch Apprentice until now. It had always been a one-way passage without intersections, where all she had to do was move forward. Yet after hurriedly running more than ten steps, she was startled to discover that the corridor split into left and right paths within the fog ahead.

"This way."

She immediately stopped, but Miss Isabella's figure appeared beside her again. The Demigod Witch disguised as a Thirteenth Order
