The closer Acorn's sensed target was to Shade, the more clearly Shade could determine the other party's location. Thus, the cat kept directing the owl to adjust course in the sky, until it finally landed atop an inconspicuous four-story building not far from the Accordion Hotel.
The witch recognized the place:
"Philharmonic Club, the most exclusive club in the area. It operates on a membership system; only musicians who can perform at Golden Music Hall and Wilundell's high nobility are qualified to enter."
Without asking, Shade knew she had definitely been inside before:
"Wait a moment. Let me sense it again. Yes, the destination is here, in the large room on the left side of the Fourth Floor."
The cat lightly bounded across the rooftop until it reached the spot above that room, and the owl landed on the tangled metal steam pipes covering the roof. Since it had rained just yesterday, large puddles still remained on the rooftop, making the place look even filthier and more disordered.
"Having such a beautiful cat standing in a filthy place like this does make for a rather clever composition, but aren't you worried about your fur?"
She looked down at it from above.
"I'm not a real cat. Why would I worry about that?"
"True. Are you sure this is the place? This room is reserved for members of the Anjou Royal Family. Fewer than ten people in all of Kasonlik are qualified to use it."
Miss Owl sounded mildly surprised. But since he did not know what was happening inside, it was inconvenient for Shade to directly enter using Laguerre's Leap. The witch, however, had no such concern, because she really was just an owl.
So she openly flew down, circled the window once, then flew back and landed once more
