The flesh's corroded skin grew structures resembling scales despite the corrosion, until York Bronte's head had grown as well. His scarlet eyes glared viciously at Shade:

The witch behind Shade sensed the enemy's current state:

"This isn't his true body. I don't know what undead secret art he used, but he split off a part of himself and hid it in the gaps of the coffin. He's temporarily transferred his consciousness here now. This is a flesh puppet under his control!"

Even though she had become an owl, Flora Winslet's mind remained sharp:

"This fleshly body was made from living human flesh, wasn't it?"

Shade, having returned through Space Jump, stood before Miss Winslet and caught York
