"Where to?"
Luvia casually pointed upward.
"Of course, to your rooftop. If anyone sees us, we'll say we're watching the stars and chatting."
She waved Shade over, signaling for him to get moving.
"Come to think of it, I've never gone up to your roof to watch the stars with you, Shade. Is your rooftop comfortable to sit on?"
Shade could answer that question. He could even tell her which part of the roof was most comfortable to lie on and best sheltered from the wind. Of course, those were things that could only be done in dreams. In Reality World, Shade still preferred sitting on the rooftop with Luvia and watching the stars—as long as the air was not too bad tonight.
Thus, early Tuesday morning, when Shade arrived at the Accordion Hotel carrying his sword, he brought good news to the two ladies.
"There's progress on the demon situation, and major progress at that. Luvia conducted a very successful divination last night."
For a brief moment, the grand scene from last night surfaced in his mind, when it had seemed as though the entire starry sky had been stirred. Yet aside from the two people on the rooftop, it was as though no one else in the world had noticed.
"She helped locate the demon's remaining two fragments. And my friend, who is very good at dealing with demons, said he'll come tomorrow night, Wednesday. This way, the demon matter will be settled tomorrow, and then we can deal with Emilia's matter."
The two ladies, who had just been about to say hello to Shade, exchanged a glance. Neither quite believed it.
"Explain carefully. Where is the demon?"
Shade drew the sword in hand and waved it around, only speaking after confirming that there was no problem.
"Come
