Beneath the moon, tree houses stretched endlessly, fireflies and glowing spheres danced together, and unicorns wandered through the woods—a scene brimming with fantasy. Anyone who suddenly came upon such a sight in a dense forest far from the city would think they had stepped into another world.
It seemed that quite a few people from the Three Great Academies had come this time. The tree houses were all lit up, while many Ring Arcanists in the ground camp tended the bonfires, arranged plans for tomorrow's operations, or simply caught up with acquaintances.
The warning ritual around the outskirts of the elf camp did not react to the three of them, so people merely glanced at them as they emerged from the forest. Emilia, leading three Luku Birds, was not surprised by the clusters of tree houses; her hometown had looked much the same. She seemed more interested in the unicorns.
"Are these all Saint Byron's unicorns?"
Shade asked her quietly. Emilia narrowed her eyes and continued forward behind Miss Danist, while the three Luku Birds, though curious about the place, obediently followed her.
After watching for a while, she shook her head.
"No. I only recognize some of these unicorns. The others don't live at the Academy."
Miss Danist had temporarily used illusion magic to return to her original appearance. Judging from her hurried steps, she clearly had little desire to speak with more people. Still, everyone they passed greeted her, and the library's Administrator Miss merely returned the greetings briefly.
Shade had also made a simple disguise. His current identity was Miss Danist's student. He simply did not want his identity as a Ring Arcanist to be linked to the Renowned Detective of Saint Derain Square, which was why he had not appeared in his real face.
