The Green Dragon Witch, who did not belong to this era at all, blinked at Shade with her back turned to him. Of course, she knew nothing about the "future." But if she made something up at random, the werewolf beside her had said last time that she had applied to Saint Byron's Witch Academy. There was no way a werewolf would not know the headmaster's name.
She had originally hesitated over whether to tell the truth, but Gray Wolf Girl unexpectedly introduced her on her own initiative:
"The current headmaster is the demigod 'Twilight Star,' Miss Hitra. She is the Great Witch of the Moon seat. The library Administrator Miss is Miss Erinoss of the Thirteenth Order. The rejection letter I received for the entrance examination bore her name as the signature."
Shade had never heard either of those names. After all, more than seven hundred years had passed since the Academy's founding. The names Miss Feliana and Miss Olanord had likely become legends by now as well.
The little boat suddenly swayed, and the four people chatting immediately fell silent. Shade waved the oar the god had asked him to keep temporarily through the water. Only after the unknown creature that had been moving beneath the surface left did he accelerate toward their destination.
For the rest of the journey, everyone focused on observing their surroundings and did not continue the conversation. When they arrived near the tower Iluna had pointed out, they discovered that only the very top floor of the black stone tower remained above water.
Iluna even pointed out:
"When we came here last time, this tower was only slightly slanted, but it definitely was not this severe. It seemed unable to hold up for much longer."
"Why are there no windows on the
