Since Emilia could try her own method, everyone split up. Vanessa returned to the Church camp to meet up with Megan and Flora, informing them that the Church's "God Summoner" still had plans. And regardless of whether Emilia's method worked, White Ape Canyon would become a true forbidden zone from now on.
Miss Olanord went with the two of them. Not only did her status as a Thirteenth Order Witch grant her special resistance, but the identity of the Helper of the Time War had also earned her Tree Father's protection.
The Sky Blade had "survived" the incident last week when the Thirteenth Ring Warlocks had collectively shrunk, also for this reason.
The three moved swiftly. By the time they returned from the mountaintop to the canyon, the only traces of the battle with the monster were the withered trees strewn across the ground.
Emilia was actually quite curious about what that monster had been, but Shade could not explain it either:
"The other party may have been a time traveler who wandered into Doomsday spacetime for some other reason. Come to think of it, I've encountered things that inexplicably crawled out of Time Rifts before, and that one seemed to be wearing an Emerald Ring too."
The "she" by his ear laughed softly. Shade froze for a moment, then immediately understood the whole chain of events.
But the most important thing now was still that black rift. As the three drew closer and closer to the black building in the canyon, both Miss Olanord and Emilia began showing signs of discomfort.
