Unintentional evil was still evil, but its degree was certainly somewhat lesser than deliberate wrongdoing.
However, Shade's worries about the "Sword of Light" were actually unnecessary, because before lunch, just as he was preparing to pay a visit to coroner Mr. Ptolemy Albert, rather bad news arrived from the city:
"The Church has suddenly surrounded the Accordion Hotel!"
For the moment, no one needed to think about the Bennett Family. The third floor of the Accordion Hotel was now the Witch Council's second local base, and there were far too many things there that could not be discovered by The Church.
Or rather, The Church should not discover the entire third floor.
The Great Witch remaining in the city today was Bella. By the time the news reached the ship, she had already hurriedly gathered the girls from the hotel's third floor to prepare a response.
Thus, the people aboard the ship sent someone into the woods to find Flora as quickly as possible, while also having the high-ranking Witches and Ring Arcanists skilled in illusions urgently travel to the hotel's third floor through the Teleportation Gate.
Shade had been on the ship at the time, so naturally he went along. Fortunately, although The Church's actions had been far too sudden, they had not gone so far as to dispatch a Thirteenth Ring Warlock to lead the search of the hotel.
In fact, all the Ring Arcanists surrounding and searching the hotel belonged to the Dawn Church. There were thirty Ring Arcanists in total, the strongest among them being one Twelve-Ring Arcanist and three Eleventh Ring Arcanists.
Some of the Dawn Church's divine arts were indeed highly suited to dispelling illusions, but the hotel's third floor had been operated by the Witches for nearly half a month and could already
