The Leopard Cat's steps were light and swift. The snow sank slightly beneath its paws, yet it left behind no unnecessary traces. Its body stayed low, its muscles taut as steel cords, and the next moment it shot forward like an arrow loosed from a bow, piercing through the cold wind and even kicking up a cloud of snow.
Its amber-like eyes reflected the starlight as it lunged at the startled Silver Wolf. The Silver Wolf hastily accelerated once he reacted, but the Leopard Cat chasing relentlessly behind him was clearly faster.
From above, the distance between them was rapidly shrinking. Even though the Silver Wolf running ahead had nearly turned into a brilliant streak of Silver Light, he still could not stop the Leopard Cat behind him from drawing ever closer.
Once they were close enough, the Leopard Cat pounced on the Silver Wolf from behind. They tumbled together, rolling across the snow surface for quite some distance before finally coming to a stop.
The Silver Wolf struggled to get up and flee, but the Leopard Cat, more than a full size larger than him, pinned him down. Still, though smaller, Shade Wolf was not truly powerless. Seeing that he had really been stopped, he immediately began swinging his claws in resistance.
Thus, wolf and cat began fighting beneath the moon. First the Leopard Cat pinned down the Silver Wolf, then the Silver Wolf overturned the Leopard Cat in return and pressed it beneath him.
All eight paws clawed at one another without pause, and even their tails became weapons as they tangled together. The Yellow Moon illuminated this rather bizarre scene. A moment later, the Silver Wolf was still the first to break the deadlock. Taking advantage of another chance to overturn the Leopard Cat, he sprang upward
