Galina understood the meaning behind the question. Everyone at the table could be trusted, and the one asking was her grandfather's great-granddaughter. Although the Duchess holding the Peacock Feather Fan was a generation below her, she looked ten years older than Galina.
"Yes, my sleep quality has been quite good lately, especially after the Year-End Festival."
When Galina answered in that manner, all the ladies at the table laughed.
"And recently, I've been reading some Artek novels."
Galina picked up a biscuit, dipped it in jam, and continued.
The City of Art, "Artek City," had many famous writers. Quite a few of their books were especially bold and avant-garde in their depictions of erotic content or extramarital affairs. In saying this, she expressed that she did not mind them asking about her private life.
Queen Diana even spoke up:
"It seems that Galina has started appreciating Master Midelo's artworks, just like the rest of us."
That sculptor was famous for the realism and richness of detail in his nude depictions.
Thus, beneath the cover of the actors' loud singing onstage, the ladies at the table laughed and joked about the recent rumor that the master had been stabbed with a carving knife by his apprentice and lover. Then someone, speaking from experience, warned Galina to "be careful about the family doctor problem"—that was, unexpected pregnancy and the like.
Then someone jokingly said, "Although the knight is handsome, judging by his appearance, Galina probably needn't worry about 'Wilundell Disease.'" This meant that Shade would not cheat on her and was very faithful to Galina. Wilundell Disease was actually a venereal disease; blaming a disease on a "foreign country" to shift the moral stigma was a common expression.
They were all delighted to pass on the experience and lessons of family life
