Standing amid the White Fog, Shade panted heavily. The terrifying spiritual pollution brought by the powerful Whisper Element vanished the moment he left the House of False Men. At that moment, he even wanted to embrace the White Fog before him.

He sighed like this again, then was surprised by the time this visit had taken him to:

This was the very early Fifth Epoch. Before this, the earliest era Shade had visited was the year 903, when he first met Chloe climbing the Silver Mountain Range. But even that had been more than five hundred years later.
To Miss Violet and Theresa, who lived near the end of the Fifth Epoch, the year 334 was even farther removed than their own time was from Shade's. This almost certainly meant that Shade was unlikely to encounter anyone he knew during this adventure.
Unless, like Miss Wilde, the green dragon maid from Ashes River Valley—Strange Tree Academy, another companion who had crossed through time appeared this time. But the odds of that were truly too low, even lower than the odds of Shade encountering another Fire-Holding Sister.
