The scroll then mentioned several weapons of Demon Hunters that had been famous in the Third Epoch. The witch who wrote the scroll suspected that all of those weapons contained "fate."

Only then did she write down the knowledge Shade cared about most:

Forging fate into a weapon required three basic conditions. First, there had to be a suitable vessel. Fate had to be borne by something in order to exert its power;

Second, the power needed to forge fate into a weapon was not something mortals could provide. Even Primordial Fire could only burn fate, not forge it. This required the power of a Foundation Stone—the authority of that Earth Old God. However, the records left by predecessors were vague. Perhaps it required some sort of divine artifact hammerhead bearing the power of an Ancient God.

Finally, aside from the object serving as the vessel and fate itself, some flux was needed to make fate truly become part of the weapon. This required tiny Fragments of Fate, but just as I do not know how to obtain fate as raw material, I also do not understand what these tiny Fragments of Fate are.

What followed was the witch's rambling written complaints about her predecessors. They had clearly left behind precious techniques, yet failed to explain far too many details. Still, she later gave more detailed explanations of the three points above, conclusions drawn from her own knowledge and past materials. For instance, the object carrying fate had to match that fate, and the power of the Foundation Stone might not refer to a hammerhead at all, but rather fire or something else.

At the end, the Ancient Witch wrote:

This way, one may forge the Blade of Fate. This will permanently consume fate, and the process is irreversible.
