Though this new region of the Doomsday Era that Shade had entered was called Misfortune Town, there was actually no misfortune here. As Shade and Adele walked through the wind and sand, he told her about his various experiences in the town in the Present World.

He had only spoken of them vaguely before, but now, whenever he saw a house or a broken wall, he could tell her something about it.

The two simply wandered forward without any particular destination, but eventually they arrived before Snow Mountain Hall.

This was the most intact building in the entire town. Though more than half of the southeast corner of the third floor had collapsed as though it had been bombarded by a Steam Cannon, all the windows had been sealed with Wooden Boards, and the bridge connecting the hilltop castle to the rest of town had broken apart, the rest of the building seemed relatively complete.

"This should have served as a Sanctuary, sheltering the people on the island. After the Doomsday arrived, most survivors would gather together and struggle to survive with Ring Arcanists at their core."

The Blonde Witch spoke to Shade amid the wind and sand as they crossed the broken bridge and reached the foot of the steps before Snow Mountain Hall. The lower half of the steps had been completely buried by sand, while the exposed portions had been severely eroded by the wind.

Shade therefore guessed:

"Will there be those mindless Corpses you mentioned inside the castle now?"

Adele was not certain either:

"True extinction in the Doomsday is usually silent. Intact Corpses rarely appear."

The two climbed the steps and reached the tightly shut doors. Wind blew at Shade from the side, and after bending down to try, he laboriously pushed the doors open.
