Battle of Doomsday - Opening
The towering Fatumonst Snow Mountain trembled violently. Even those who knew nothing of the seal within could tell that some colossal thing trapped inside the mountain was moving its body. Snow and boulders continually peeled away from the mountainside, the auditorium within was buried by avalanches, suspension bridges snapped amid the shaking, and even the Ring Arcanists and monsters fighting in the mountain ceased their battle at that moment.
Fortunately, before the mountain could completely collapse, a golden halo symbolizing divine power enveloped its outskirts. Phantom giant golden Rune Chains bound the main body of the Snow Mountain, doing everything possible to ensure that Fatumonst Snow Mountain would not crumble.
But the chains could only preserve the mountain's basic structure. Much like the summit, caves and rifts appeared all across the mountain as it continued to shake, followed by dim yellow light seeping from those openings.
The situation was even worse than The Church had anticipated. In the Third Prayer Hall of the Sun Church cathedral in the City of Time Wheels, hundreds of ever-burning candles illuminated the room with golden flames. The divine artifact known as the "Stone Chain" hummed amid sacred hymns, its rust-covered links floating above the altar at the center of the Prayer Ritual being conducted by a hundred priests.
Even the beastlike roars coming from the Snow Mountain outside the cathedral could not shake the resonance of their prayers. Rust peeled from the chain's surface, revealing the golden runes that formed it. Yet that golden radiance was being corroded by blackness as well. Once the chain broke, nothing would remain to restrain the main body of the Snow Mountain.
