The filthy blood water spraying from the dense nozzles on the two-meter-high ceiling had no effect on the black shadow. Madam Gustav hid beneath the metal plate made by the Halfling Young Lady while casting another Thaumaturgy.
She threw out the Spellcasting Materials Shade had brought her this time—a large handful of very thin metal sheets:
"Thaumaturgy: Metal Alchemy!"
The metal sheets transformed directly into a thick metal wall within the room, bearing the holy symbol of that righteous god.
The Creation Church also had Ring Arcanists who specialized in alchemy, and Metal Alchemy was usually used to make temporary metal weapons. Using it to create an entire wall like this was rather uncommon.
The wall was not shattered. The black shadow passed through it as though passing through a door, seemingly turning incorporeal. But because the wall bore the holy symbol of a righteous god, it did not pass through particularly quickly.
That gave the group a chance to keep retreating. When the black shadow had completely passed through the metal wall, thicker than a bank vault, Miss Bladewei turned and pointed a finger at it:
"Witch Secret Art: Metal Bomb!"
Boom!
The four, already prepared, rode the tremendous blast and nearly flew to the door on the opposite side of the room.
The room itself was completely unaffected by the huge explosion. Amid the Blood Mist formed by the vaporized blood water, the black shadow appeared at an even faster speed than before and lunged at the group opening the door.
"Spell: Life Ray!"
Shade's right hand, which had been struck by the power of Wither, was now holding the Fire Seed Source with Gina's help. His still-sensate right hand continuously absorbed the warm Life Fire Seed to heal the injuries in his arm.
