Just as Shade was wondering why, light shone from the depths of the surrounding liquid. Looking more carefully, he realized that he had not sunk into the pale red liquid at all, but was trapped inside a sphere of it.
The giant-like Weeper of Blood, Hermons, whose entire body gleamed silver white, stood amid the dense fog. He held the red sphere imprisoning Shade between his hands from either side, and then blazing flames erupted from the two blinking eyes embedded in the centers of his palms.
This was Life Fire condensed from the Twisted Life Fire Seed. When the blazing flames touched the liquid, Shade felt his body gradually dissolving in the ever-heating fluid.
