Seeing that Shade wanted to stand, Miss Olanord told him to sit down, speaking gently:
"The library is very dangerous. You shouldn't go."
Then her tone turned more serious:
"Fiona, you go. Bring that shrine back."
She spoke to her student, and the red-haired girl immediately rose to her feet, nodding somewhat stiffly:
"Yes, Teacher."
Her crimson hair looked even more textured in the firelight. Once she stood, the enormous shadow with a tail was immediately cast onto the wall behind her. The murals on that wall had long since faded, depicting the library's glory in the Old Days and parts of a map. With that huge tailed shadow appearing over them, they rather resembled the backdrop of a puppet show.
Miss Olanord then explained to Shade:
"Fiona is only at the seventh ring. We chose to bring her because her Red Dragon Bloodline can somewhat resist the loss of power during the Blizzard Era."
"I see."
Shade had learned something new again. He watched the young Witch pull a prepared torch from the clutter behind her, ignite it with the campfire, and walk into the corridor on the left.
Miss Olanord gestured for the Witches of the Zalas Society to prepare a list of daily necessities, while Shade thought of something else:
"Miss Olanord, I have another question. After 3014, did anyone who attended the God of Blood Feast Wine Party come looking for you?"
He further explained:
"In 3014, I attended the God of Vampires' wine party with a Witch, a pair of twins, and an old gentleman."
"I don't know about the old gentleman, but Teacher seems to have mentioned the twins and the other Witch. It's just that when the twins came to visit, I happened not to be by Teacher's side."
