"Did you sell the Blood Holy Grail to him?"
"Of course not. The sins he offered weren't enough. The vampire was very dissatisfied, so we started fighting."
The gaunt, dark humanoid creature laughed, as though a glob of phlegm were lodged in its throat.
As for the outcome of the fight, there was naturally no need to say.
"You didn't kill him? Oh, you don't look like such a kindhearted person."
"Why kill him? Life isn't worth much in this place. The vampire took on new sins in exchange for me sparing him. I even told him how to obtain that Holy Grail with the fewest sins. Oh, guest, here, the trade of sins can grant almost any wish."
Transactions at the Sin Mansion could involve giving away one's own sins or taking on new ones. This could theoretically achieve a "balanced account," but repeated transactions could very likely result in either "meeting the Sin Mansion Master" or becoming lost. Therefore, if one could remain rational, choosing to leave directly was the right course of action.
"Wait, the first vibration in the mansion happened because you started fighting, didn't it?"
Shade narrowed his eyes slightly. The gaunt creature once again let out an extremely unpleasant laugh from its throat.
"Yes, because of us. He attacked a trader here, causing the mansion to become hostile toward all guests."
Shade immediately gritted his teeth and turned toward the door.
"So that's what happened! No wonder he ran so fast! I knew this definitely wasn't caused by me. But if Armand Bernhardt is here, then who was it that set off those flames on the 1st Floor and badly wounded that black-haired man?"
Regardless of who had detonated the flames on the 1st Floor, Shade did not intend to leave this room immediately.
