"Is this a wine cellar? It's already early winter, so there shouldn't be many people coming to the wine cellar. And I remember there really are many wineries near Huntington. This is a good sign."
Shade silently mused to himself, lighting up his fingertips to examine his surroundings more carefully.
This was not like Coldwater Port or Middlesburg, places where hardly anyone ever appeared. It was a building with an owner, similar to Saint Derain Square. But it seemed that the owner here knew nothing about the Hidden Wall, much less that someone might emerge from it.
Out of caution, Shade used Echoes of the Past to listen in, but repeated attempts yielded no results. This meant that no human had spoken nearby within the past forty-eight hours.
Knowing that, Shade felt much more at ease. Wineries around Huntington were usually not too far from the city. If this really was near that Red Wine City, then although entering and leaving still carried the risk of discovery, he at least knew he was not far from his destination:
"That Golden Lucky Rabbit Foot really has good luck. Still, I'll probably dream of a lot of rabbits tonight. I wonder whether they'll like the Silver Moon in my dream."
As he thought, he began calculating the chances of buying this wine cellar along with the building above it. But then he remembered that he was a Delarion. If he wanted to purchase property on foreign soil, even if he had enough cash in hand and the owner was willing to sell, he would probably still need to find a trustworthy local agent.
Using the Door Key to unlock the chain on the iron gate, he carefully pushed the door open and stepped outside. In the darkness, he discovered a sloping corridor.
