The main reason was that not a single sea monster could have imagined such an absurd premise as, "Gu Ya Zun was assassinated, and this Gu Ya Zun is an empty shell drawn by someone."
It was true that Mad Saber and Mountain Sparrow had encountered quite a few sea monster attendants along the way. They had even taken the initiative to ask for the location of the auction venue, something Gu Ya Zun should have known. But no one had dared question a sea monster regent!
Especially one who swayed unsteadily as if drunk, while looking stern and being clearly in a terrible mood.

Because they feared this regent's former reputation for being "ferocious" and "petty," even if something felt off, their fear stopped the sea monsters from questioning Gu Ya Zun any further or entertaining the disrespectful thought that something was wrong with this important person.
If they were discovered, it would be absolutely disastrous!
And it was precisely this excessively twisted reverence that gave Mountain Sparrow and Mad Saber an opportunity!
