After communicating with the other side's envoy, Reiner agreed to set the negotiations for the afternoon.
Once the other side's envoy had left, his vassals finally began celebrating with great enthusiasm. Everyone was in exceptionally high spirits. After nearly half a year of campaigning, victory was finally within reach.
They all wondered what benefits they might receive. There was no way the enemy could be beaten this badly and still refuse to offer concessions. By now, these lords had become the most steadfast hardliners. Even if Reiner wanted to ask for less, they would probably object.
The negotiations were set to take place in the outer city of Rukoin Fortress, in the plaza beyond the inner walls. After leisurely enjoying a simple Victory Celebration Feast, Reiner pursed his lips and told the lords to prepare themselves.
"Ha-ha! Those damned bastards finally can't hold out any longer, can they? If I don't tear open their veins and bleed them dry, then I'm not a Morland!" Count Jorral had already begun imagining the possibilities. His booming voice could be heard by Reiner even inside the tent.
Reiner could only smile helplessly when someone joked with him, "Maybe you really aren't a Morland! Hahahaha!"
Time passed second by second, yet it seemed especially long to the Imperial Army's lords. They were already impatient to carve a piece of flesh from the Holy War Coalition.
"Time's up!" Reiner rose from his chair and said, "Now, let's take back everything they owe us, with interest!"
Reiner wore extremely lavish armor. It was far more decorative than practical, but that happened to suit his status perfectly.
The lords brought their personal guards and attendants and followed behind Reiner. Entering the outer wall alongside him was the Crimson Gryphon Knights, whose individual combat strength was extraordinarily formidable.
