Amid the wind and snow, three cars slowly pulled over by the roadside. Sabine City rarely saw such heavy snowfall, and this had driven many people to join the ranks of beggars.

They were not homeless. These people had families and homes of their own. They had merely been forced to turn themselves into beggars because the factories had shut down and the pressure of daily life had become too great.

Those luxury cars and motorcades were often their targets. The wealthy might give them a little something just to keep them farther away.

Some loose change, coins, or whatever else they had.

But when the door of the middle car opened and the person inside stepped out, everyone who had been approaching the cars stopped in their tracks—even began backing away!

They knew this man. Noel, Noel Green, the elder brother of the Green Brothers, and an extremely terrifying figure.

There was no one in all of Sabine City who did not know him. If he had appeared here, then his brother should be here too. They rarely separated!

Sure enough, the door on the other side opened, and Fern got out of the car.

They wore wide-brimmed bowler hats and black capes with fur collars.

Beneath the capes were gray formal suits with hints of red, blue checked vests, and silk ties.

Pure-gold pocket watches set with gemstones stretched across their left sides, making them look extraordinarily noble. At the very least, they were rich! Noel stood on the sidewalk with someone holding an umbrella over him. He pulled a small stack of one-dollar bills from his pocket—around forty or fifty dollars—casually scattered them around, and then entered the building by the roadside with his younger brother, Fern.

Only after the brothers had left did the beggars cry
