"Looks like... I've finished my work for today?" Mr. President twisted the cap back onto his pen after signing the last document and set it on the desk.
He turned his head toward his Deputy, who nodded. "Yes, Mr. President. Today's work is over."
Mr. President asked again, "Then I don't have any other engagements tonight, do I?"
"No. You can arrange the rest of your time as you please!"
A good deal more cheer appeared on Mr. President's face. When he had been Vice President, he had found it terribly boring because he couldn't interfere in anything.
In name, the federal system had three parties put forward candidates to participate in the election. They could withdraw, and they could also put forward multiple candidates.
The person who ultimately won the election became the federation's president. The first candidate from another party in the ranking became Vice President.
The Vice President's job was to oversee some of the President's administrative orders and provide reference opinions on certain policies. In short, judging from its written description, it was an important position.
But in reality, that wasn't the case! It was merely a decoration, a position created to prove that "the federation is a fair, just, and free country." Anyone of sound mind could see that.
