Once the battlefield observers from the tank factory fed their firsthand reports back to the factory, the designers suddenly realized that self-propelled artillery was actually completely pointless in positional warfare.
The reason was simple. If it was only being used for positional warfare, artillery alone was enough to handle most situations, leaving little purpose for self-propelled artillery.
The soldiers also reported several issues. They felt that if the self-propelled artillery could provide breaching support and cover while advancing across the ground, they would be very satisfied as long as it could meet those two requirements.
Based on the frontline feedback, the engineers at the Tank Design Institute soon designed an entirely new self-propelled artillery vehicle. They reduced the caliber of the main gun and made the turret fully enclosed.
The armor on the entire hull was also reinforced to varying degrees, including a redesign of the wheels.
The purpose was simple now: make changes based on the actual conditions of the battlefield rather than letting the designers' brilliant minds run wild with speculation.
After the new prototype was produced, Mr. Wo Delike also pulled some strings to find people in the military to test it. Most of their feedback was positive, though some of them naturally offered suggestions.
For example, the self-propelled artillery would be restricted in certain special terrain. In any case, the design continued to be revised.
Only after the soldiers receiving hefty extra payments for testing it decided that there were no more problems did Mr. Wo Delike summon Lin Qi.
He had done everything the laboratory and testing grounds could do. What remained was actual combat.
"Fighting in Maliro is at its hottest right now, so I was thinking..." Mr. Wo Delike elegantly worked his knife and fork, cutting off a cube of steak, "...that we
