"These... what am I supposed to do?"
The new maid stared blankly at the soybeans Lin Qi had brought back. She knew what they were.
Although soybeans were nutritious and cheap, they were something mostly eaten by the poor. Whether canned soybeans or relief food, they had never been prepared for the wealthy! It was difficult to find soybean-related dishes in mid- to high-end restaurants, at least for now.
So when Lin Qi brought back these soybeans, Little Maid was somewhat at a loss. It was her first time working for a rich person, and she was not sure whether these things were what she thought they were.
Little Maid glanced at the roughly two pounds of soybeans and was unsure what to do as well. After giving the new maid a look that meant "wait a moment," she ran over to Lin Qi and asked what he planned to use the soybeans for.
"Take a quarter of them and soak them in warm water. Rinse them once every hour. Leave the rest alone."
He paused as he spoke, as if he had thought of something. "Oh, right. Help me find a stone mill. A small one will do. An electric one would be even better."
Since Little Maid was pregnant, most of the work was now being handled by the new Little Maid whom the community company had arranged for them.
As for why the maid had not been dismissed despite becoming pregnant, the community company offered no explanation. They acted as though they knew nothing about it.
Little Maid had apparently entered the community company through an introduction from the new maid. She was supposedly her cousin or something. In any case, they had some family connection and could be considered relatives from one side of the family.
