You had to have something others wanted before you could obtain what you wanted. The exchange did not have to be completely equal, but at the very least, both sides had to find it acceptable.

But now, he was the one asking Lin Qi for help, and there was nothing Lin Qi absolutely needed or wanted. He could no longer say anything.

It was not that he could not speak. He simply understood that saying anything would accomplish very little.
