Promoting someone was a very simple matter. At least, it was for Lin Qi.
Lin Qi praised him over the phone for making an excellent choice, but he did not say much else. He merely encouraged him to do more good things for the Federation, society, and the people.
He gave no further instructions, nor did he tell him what to do or not do. This left Evan Agent somewhat confused.
In his view, so-called "making friends" meant following Lin Qi's arrangements, leaking some information to him, or creating some conveniences for him, didn't it?
But... nothing happened at all, which left Evan Agent completely baffled.
The weekend passed quickly. On Monday morning, after a sleepless night, Evan Agent only managed to sleep a little just before dawn.
Yawning, he arrived at work looking exhausted. He had just sat down and drunk half of his coffee with little sugar when the telephone on his desk rang.
"Evan?"
"Someone's outside asking for you."
The call ended immediately afterward.
Evan rubbed his eyes and stood up. He gave his nearby colleagues a seemingly cheerful explanation for why he was leaving—he was going to watch the game.
The moment he turned around, the fake smile vanished from his face, leaving only exhaustion.
He walked into the lobby and saw a man wearing a blue hat sitting in the corner.
The Bureau of Anti-Organized Crime Investigation had no official sign. Unlike the Federal Bureau of Investigation, it did not have a magnificent office building, an independent driveway outside, or a marble nameplate.
There was no sign of it anywhere on the outside, and ordinary people could not find this place.
Evan Agent observed him for a moment. The man in the blue hat looked up, saw him, and gestured for him to come over.
