"High treason?"
The Army Chief of Staff sat down across from the Former Prime Minister. He glanced at the teapot on the table and poured himself a cup.
Smelling the fragrance of the Flower Tea, he shook his head slightly. "No, I'm defending our country by another method!"
As he spoke, he tipped his head back and drank all the tea in the cup. It was a little hot, but by the time it reached his stomach, it had already cooled considerably.
There was no burning sensation from being scalded, only the illusion that a surge of energy had been injected into him.
He looked straight at the Former Prime Minister. "You're doing this, he's doing this, and I'm doing this too. It's just that each of us has chosen a different method."
The Army Minister now displayed a temperament he had never shown before, a fervor that seemed to come from being immersed in certain thoughts.
He lowered his voice slightly. "You think the Federation can save us, but in truth, not only did they fail to help us, they even gave us a push before we fell into the abyss."
