Security in the high-end residential community was exceptionally good.

The Federation's nights were always unsettling. The community where the doctor lived had patrol guards.

There were patrol guards outside the community as well.

They saw the doctor and asked whether he needed help. Only after he denied it did they leave the two of them.

Once the patrol team had gone far enough, the two continued walking along the roadside.

The lighting here was too bright, making it unsuitable for discussing matters.

After walking for roughly one or two minutes, Noel opened a car parked by the roadside and gestured for him to get in and talk.

The doctor hesitated for a moment before opening the rear door instead of the passenger-side door.

He felt safer sitting in the back seat.

The moment both side doors were closed, the doctor could no longer restrain the fear and fury in his heart. He growled in a low voice, "Who the hell are you?"

Noel calmly pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, took one out, and handed it to the doctor.

The doctor hesitated, but still accepted the cigarette. He needed the nicotine to relax his taut nerves!

Before long, the car was filled with the smell of smoke.

"Someone hired me to investigate you..."

Noel had not finished speaking when the doctor cut him off. "Are you a private detective?"

Deep down, he believed that only people like private detectives would investigate others through such private means.

There was an entire process for gathering evidence under Federation law. Take the doctor's affair with Joanna, for example. If official personnel wanted to install a bug or camera in his room,

they would first have to inform the person being bugged or secretly recorded, telling him, "We are monitoring you."
