Frank's father was packing while looking down at the documents in his hands.

These were important documents left behind by the Dice Family. They might not be worth a single cent—not shares, bonds, or anything like that. They had no tangible monetary value.

Yet they were priceless. Some recorded highly classified political secrets or business secrets.

They also contained leverage over certain people, as well as information about certain individuals and companies.

To many people, they were nothing but useless wastepaper. You couldn't take a document saying that "so-and-so once did something terrible" and get anything in return.

But sometimes, they had a value that wealth could never match! The Dice Family was leaving the Federation, and some less important documents could not be taken with them. After all, they were fleeing, not relocating.

After confirming that certain documents did not need to be taken, Frank's father threw them straight into the brazier.

There were many braziers in the room, each blazing fiercely. Any documents that were unwanted and unnecessary to take along were burned.

Only the valuable ones would leave with them.

Frank was also inspecting the documents in his hands. He kept a few and put the rest into the brazier.

His expression was cold, and he had grown somewhat gaunt.

In just two months, he had lost more than twenty pounds! At his age, losing that much weight so suddenly had left him almost unrecognizable! He picked up the fire tongs and prodded the documents covering the brazier, making the paper burn more thoroughly.

He said nothing and answered no one. He simply kept his head down and continued working.
