In the empty room, Joanna nervously rotated the wineglass in her hand.

She truly could not afford to pay off more than four million in IOUs.

This was no longer just a matter of money. It involved legal issues as well, and might even implicate Mr. Truman.

She knew that everything she had today was thanks to Mr. Truman.

As long as nothing happened to him, even if she went through a temporary slump, she would eventually climb back out of it!

After seeing the guests off, the Card Game Organizer returned to the room. She glanced at Joanna and sat down beside her.

"You don't need to worry about the money. I won't press you for it in the short term."

"But you saw it yourself. I handed your share of the gambling debt directly to him."

"This isn't a small sum, so I still hope you can raise it as soon as possible."

"Before January next year. What do you think?"

Perhaps the fact that she was not in a hurry to collect the money helped Joanna calm down a little.

She thought for a while, then nodded. "I'll pay you back before January."

The Card Game Organizer smiled. "That would be best..."

After a pause, she said, "Are you hungry? Shall we go out and get something to eat?"

How could Joanna possibly be in the mood to eat? She directly rejected the suggestion, rested for a while, then got up and left.

If she had not rested for a while, she would not even have been able to walk. Both her legs were trembling!

When she returned to the Presidential Palace, it happened to be dinnertime.

She reeked of smoke and alcohol. After taking off her clothes, she took a quick shower, changed into another outfit,
