Every corporation talked about market share. What was market share, really? Put simply, it was the degree of monopoly.

Did a hundred-percent market share mean complete monopoly? Did fifty-percent market share mean monopolizing half the industry's market? Monopoly had always existed. It had merely changed forms and continued to accompany people.

Mr. Truman did not believe the Former President could not see this.
