The president was furious. He felt this was a perfunctory gesture, and it once again made him feel that he was a rather useless president.
Losing the election to Mr. Truman, whose political capital was not particularly strong, was one thing. At worst, he had merely been there to make up the numbers and serve as a mascot.
After Mr. Truman was assassinated, he had not actually wanted to seize all the power. But the bare minimum of respect should still have been there, shouldn't it?
He rarely lost his temper like this, and the reason was that he felt deeply insulted! In fact, he still did not fully understand that, as far as the current cabinet was concerned, it was Mr. Truman who had promoted them.
And the person they had worked with the most was Lin Qi.
From the Department of Defense to the Department of Education, and then the Department of Labor and the Immigration Bureau, they had all worked with Lin Qi to varying degrees.
To them, if they encountered a problem and had to ask who was the most trustworthy, Mr. Truman came first, and Lin Qi came second! There was no helping it. That pair could always solve any problem. There was nothing they couldn't resolve!
