Mr. Wo Delike was usually accurate when judging people. Aside from his misjudgment of Lin Qi, he had made very few serious mistakes.
That young man had seemed intent on projecting an aura of "strength," but the stiffer his performance became, the more it exposed his true circumstances.
A person's "strength" always came from within and radiated outward; it was never something merely displayed on the surface.
This actually had little to do with the social class one currently occupied or everything one possessed.
The strong would always grow stronger. That was a truth! Just as he had known Lin Qi was "strong" at a glance during the party Bowling President had held to celebrate becoming president that year.
His strength had not been reflected in how much money he had at the time or what position he occupied.
Rather, it had emerged through his inner-to-outer aura, behavior, gaze, movements, expression... A whole series of things had revealed it in a complex yet effective way.
When they had chatted in Mr. Wo Delike's study, he had been "conquered" by Lin Qi.
He had felt as if he were speaking with someone his own age, or even an elder. Lin Qi had not been intimidated, his conversation had been witty, and most importantly, his intense confidence had continued infecting everyone around him!
One only had to meet his gaze for a moment. Lin Qi did not even need to say anything; his eyes alone would convince them.
They would believe that he could do it, that he was capable, that he could succeed!
That young man, however, was different. He was like someone constantly waving a fistful of banknotes and shouting, "I'm fucking rich!" in an attempt to win people's trust.
His strength was entirely superficial. It looked hollow and false.
