The Governor's Mansion looked different at different times.
The last time Lyon had come to the Governor's Mansion, he had been like a lowly little bug, allowed by the gods to set foot in the realm of gods.
He had been humble, crude, and completely out of place among everything around him. He had not even dared to straighten his back and hold his head high as he walked.
But this time, despite being in the same place, he felt completely different.
There was a ball. A niece of the governor was celebrating her birthday and had invited Lyon to attend.
It was not merely a birthday banquet, but a special ball, because the governor's niece would invite outstanding young men to dance with her.
If someone performed well enough, there was a very high chance that he could become the governor's niece's husband.
This was a very common sort of "activity" among the nobility. Most of the time, however, they held it for their own daughters rather than their nieces.

Apart from Lyon, quite a few other nobles had come to the ball. Their purpose was not to have their sons marry someone they did not think much of.

Led by the butler, Lyon bypassed the staircase leading upstairs and passed through a side corridor, arriving before a huge door.
Two attendants seemed to strain as they pushed open the heavy doors. The quiet corridor suddenly filled with pleasant music and the noisy chatter of people.
A living painting unfolded before Lyon's eyes as the doors continued opening.
